    Abstract:

    Objective To evaluate the benefits and safety of Tibetan drug Wangla as a food and as a drug.Methods Rats and mice were used in this experiment.Tests of acute oral toxicity,micronucleus assay of mouse bone marrow,sperm abnormality test and 30 days-feeding test were performed.Results All oral LD50 of the drug Wangla in male and female rats and mice were >10.00 g/kg body weight.It is actually non-toxic.All results of micronucleus assay of bone marrow,sperm abnormality test and genetic toxicity test were negative.No apaprent toxicity was shown by the 30 days-feeding test.Conclusion The Tibetan drug Wangla can be orally comsumped.
