Abstract:Objective To assess and analyze the levels of estradial(E_2),progesterone(P),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH) and luteinizing hormone(LH) in blood serum of Fmr1 knockout mice and FVB mice before and after superovulation.Method The levels of E_2,P,FSH and LH were measured by RIA and statistically analyzed.Results The levels of FSH and LH were not different between Fmr1 knockout mice and FVB mice.The levels of E_2 and P were higher in FVB mice(P<0.01).The levels of E_2,P,FSH,LH and the amount of ova had no significant difference between Fmr1 knockout mice and FVB mice at 10 weeks of age after superovulation(P>0.05),but the amount of ova of superovulated Fmr1 knockout mice 10 weeks old was higher than those in 6 weeks old(P>0.05).Conclusion Fmr1 gene may perhaps influence the E_2,P,FSH and LH levels in serum.It should be taken into consideration in mouse reproductive physiological studies.
