    Abstract:

Objective Human papillomaviruses (HPVs) are associated with specific benign and malignant lesions, such as cervical carcinoma, anogenital cancers, condyloma acuminata, etc. However, they are human epithelia-specific and do not infect any laboratory animals. This characteristic makes it difficult to study the infection process and pathogenisis of HPVs, and to develop anti-HPV drugs. To solve these problems, it seems important and urgent to generate animal models with HPV. Thus a review of advances in this field was made in this article.
