    Abstract:

    Three hundred and seventy-seven Macaca fascicularis were cultr ued for the intestinal Shigella, and isolated to thirty-seven Shigella strain by means of biochemical and serological identification. The results showed that th e infective rate of Shigella was 11%, which was divided into 3 groups, 8 serolog ical types, but that of Shigella dysenteriae, Sh.flexneri and Sh.sonnei was 10.8 %, 86.5% and 2.7%, respectively. Whereas the infective rate of Sh.flexneri 2a ty pe was the highest to be 59.5%. The 8 serological type strains of Shigella were tested for drug sensitivity, it was variant that the strain of different serolog ical type against to one kind of antibiotic drug in sensitivity and antibiotic r esistance.
